Having already been relegated, Down seconds were playing for nothing more than pride in this Junior 3 clash at Comber Leisure Centre last Friday night.

The locals were able to scrape together a pretty decent side but poor defensive work gifted South Antrim seconds three easy goals. The home side never really looked like scoring and will be glad when the season is finally over.

Down failed to fulfil a number of fixtures due to a chronic shortage of players at the club and that's something they'll be hoping to have addressed by September.

Retirements of some senior player and the unavailability of others due to work commitments hit the club really hard and the past few months have been extremely challenging to say the least.
