Down seconds lost heavily to derby rivals North Down fifths at Comber Leisure Centre last Friday night but have an opportunity to put things right this weekend when the sides meet at Malone Park.

The visitors created a number of chances and should have been ahead in the game, but it was North Down who scored first. Indeed, the home side raced into a 4-0 lead before Down scored a consolation goal.

Forced to make the short journey to Comber with the bare 11, the locals were always going to be up against a strong home team.

Early on, Down's Jeremy McCready saw his shot strike the post and deflect wide, while Jordan Wade, Jordan Aidey, Mark Graham and Andy Teggart all should have scored as the visitors dominated proceedings for a time.

Down were made to pay for the missed chances by North Down who scored three goals before the interval and the home side made it 4-0 within minutes of the restart.

They scored another three with Down grabbing a consolation through Wade and he and team mates will be hoping to avenge the derby defeat this Saturday at Malone Park when the sides face each other again.
